Limonium caspium
Limonium caspium is an extraordinary and a very rare plant. We appear to be the only source of seed for this rare beast at the moment. Oddly it has two types of foliage, really strange perfoliate leaves, which later send up tall elegant white and palest lilac flowering stems. It also sports tall very fine but dense feathery foliage stems. Quite unlike any other Limonium, it's fantastic filigree filler, which dries a dream. Albeit a tad stinky as it dries! Best with a bit of net support to keep the flowering stems upright. Perennial for us here in softy Dorset and very drought tolerant. Although slightly less hardy than our other Limoniums, this is really worth the effort. I imagine it could grow very tall in a polytunnel.
Sow on arrival and in Spring in good gritty seed compost
60/80cm+ Any, even poor rocky soil in full sun
